Well, this is a left turn for me as far as a blog posting goes... but it addresses something that happened very close to me that has been on my mind a bit.
Girl’s clean water wish takes off after her death - US news - Giving - msnbc.com
Rachel was only beginning her life and had only turned the first few pages of what promised to be a truly amazing story to tell. Tragically, that book was closed only a few chapters in.
She began with a huge heart and a tiny wish. What sprung from it has only begun to touch the lives of thousands of people throughout the word. Both in her story, AND for the 15,000+ people (at the time of this writing) that will directly feel the effects of her kindness. I did not know her beyond a passing in a hallway, but for those that did, the impact of her untimely passing is beyond words.
I just wish that this world had the opportunity to read what awaited in the coming chapters.

An exploration into [?]. Sometimes relevant, most often not, my jestful and cynical thoughts will lead the way!
Welcome!
This is my first shot at playing with a blog. Bear with me as I stumble through this!

How to Build Your Brand Working For Someone Else
BruceClay - How to Build Your Brand Working For Someone Else
First attempt at linking an article through a Chrome Extension... and to my blog. Let's see how this goes...
However, I found this article to be a great read on the importance of investing a little time in yourself and building out YOUR personal brand. Not your company, but YOUR brand. The company value will increase in parallel, and will appreciate having a strong asset on the team, but remember to take some time for yourself too!

The Kardashian Letter
Okay. Post number 3, and this is where I lose all credibility. I am going to devote this entire piece to that pompous little letter that has annoyed me since early childhood in the word "façade." What I once referred to as "the dangler" actually has a name, and is a more common enemy than I suspected.
Throughout history, this vermin has successfully leeched onto other unknowing letters in addition to just the 'c' in facade. Originating in 16th Century Spain, its initial conquest began with the the innocent letter 'z' ("zeta" nowadays but previously "ceda"). Following this quick victory, it was from these virgin ashes that the vile letter-creature spawned its name, "The Cedilla." Taking on the appearance of the drunken mark of Zorro and free from the laws of traditional phonics, it's no wonder that The Cedilla strikes fear in any character it faces. Since then, 24 different letters/characters of languages all over the world have been infected and even Microsoft Office AutoCorrect will place The Cedilla in its 'rightful' place.
It must be stopped. And, it must be stopped now. As an individual that has grown up in the United States, I have experienced the pains of not being on the Metric system and the fractional residue that the Standard system creates. I have studied and practiced architecture only to find The Cedilla creeping into my language there. I have lived in Barcelona to hear the crippling effects within the Catalan dialect. What can be done to stop the spread? I can only imagine the sheer panic if it did manage to tunnel into the numeric system. Everyone would be forced to take Çąļçųļųş and EVERYTHING would have remainders. I just can't take it, nor think about it any longer. Please, please, please write to your local congressman, senators, and/or crossing guards before it's too late!

A little background... just a little.
So, just a few words about me to start off whatever this blog may morph into. I like technology. Both in the seemingly invisible ways it connects the world and in the fun little toys that embrace it all like cell phones. Mobile is and has been the direction the world has been moving ever since those tiny little boxes called pagers were invented. However, back then, the only thing that seemed to spur urgency was the fun little #911 that could be added to the end.
From there, things changed. Everything changed. Cell phones were huge. Then they became smaller and smaller. Now, they're becoming bigger and bigger. I wonder if things will come full circle and laptops will take the main stage again but be doubled as a cell phone (weren't we there already?).
Oh yeah. Back to me. I used to write quite a bit as I recall, but I'm not sure where that went, or, perhaps, where I left it. After a stint in college I picked up and lived/traveled around Europe for a year... and kept a pretty good journal on the adventure I had. Got my picture taking in too, then came back with a different path and with fresh eyes. Free from the architecture studio and endless nights designing and preparing for that next presentation, I jumped over to Politcal Science and added a different perspective to my thought process from the methodologies of architecture. Pairing that with another degree in Spanish I brought my college days to a close and headed off into the work world.
Fast-forwarding through a few jobs after college I found myself back in architecture for the next 4 1/2 years. That was a phone call out of the blue. I enjoyed it, and went a long ways with my career in the field rather quickly. However, faced with a downturn in the economy and my/the firm's major projects wrapping up - and not seeing a lot of new leads coming in - I made the decision to dive the rest of the way into something I was dabbling with on the side. Social Media. Once again, I have definitely come a long ways in the field but realize that I am always learning. It's a field that is always changing... and thus, I will always be learning, adapting, and pushing forward. I like that. Perhaps more on that in some other post.
I am currently living in the Seattle area, play soccer year round, snowboard when I can during the winter, ride my motorcycle around when I can during the summer, and involve myself wherever else opportunity presents itself or interests take me (trying to wrap this up quickly - so much for "a little" background). If you're ever interested in contacting me. I'm sure you can find me. That's what Google is for.

Breaking the Ice
Starting off with a less than perfect post just to get my feet wet. I wonder how difficult the first entry is for most people. Depending on the subject, it’s really just your own naked thoughts being thrown out to the masses… perhaps. That is, if anybody is listening. But, to craft that perfect title for the Blog, or even the Blog Post can be a daunting task. I know I’ve thought about what the title of my Blog (if I were to ever create one) would be from time to time. And, I’m pretty sure that I had a few great ideas, but without the brilliant content for this pesky first post nothing materialized and the titles have escaped me. So here I be. Day 1. Maybe there will be a Day 2 in the near future… but the last thing that I would want is to do is drive traffic to a less than perfect Blog with a bland title. I’m pretty sure that would kill my fan base. Perhaps I’ll just rename it Mediocre Meanderings so that I set the expectations bar really low and people can mentally prepare themselves for a bumpy ride. Man, I can’t imagine how smooth of sailing it would be for those people that have the perfect Blog name from the get-go…
Cheers!
Cheers!
